FLOPSY LIFE

Moonlit Musings IV

I've been thinking lately about hope - that feeling that stems from the heart, nurturing the soul, gently guiding thoughts. With hope, it's possible to dream & leap into the unknown. After a month that felt like a dark night of the soul, where most tarot readings involved Celeste pulling The Tower for me (& often hitting me with it while babbling for emphasis), I'm feeling that spark of hope again. I want to feed that flame, radiating that light as the days grow darker and nights get longer.

At the corners of the year, The Equinoxes & Solstices, I take a moment to pause, reflect & set intentions for the season ahead. I felt the pull to share my ritual here, hoping you may find it supportive.

I begin by setting the space: lights off, candles flickering, incense drifting. I like to meditate to let go of the day & come home to the present moment, connecting with my body & slowing my thoughts (I've been loving Open lately). Next comes a tarot pull, asking a simple "What do I need to know?" I journal whatever comes up for me, along with answering the following questions.

  1. What has felt good lately? Have I been craving anything or felt like something is off-kilter?

  2. What rituals anchor me, making my heart feel full & days feel magical?

  3. What projects would feel good to accomplish? WHY?

  4. What needs to shift to make space for what is to come?

  5. What habits do I need to establish to make this possible?

  6. Is anything else drifting through my mind that needs space to be felt or spoken?

The next day I'm working, I go back to these answers, creating actionable steps for making these dreams a reality, making to-do lists, scheduling deadlines, booking bodywork appointments & blocking off family time in my planner. Each New Moon, I revisit these plans, shifting course as needed with life's ebbs & flows.
